Where have we been?

Well, you would think since my last post was a week and a half ago and I vowed to do more sewing, crafting, etc that I would have something to show you. Not so much. I can't say that I know exactly what has kept me from blogging except maybe not much extra time, so this will be a random post including well, a look into how my mind jumps around during the day.
(I will bullet point this blog since it will be filled with lots of randomness so you can skim it if you would like.)

*Thank you Mr. Exersaucer inventor man! Both of my babies LOVE (loved in Sissy's case) their exersaucer. If someone doesn't have one for their infant, please make sure they get one. You can get so many things (like catching up on blogging) done while your baby is jumping up and down and chewing on everything in sight...which Bubba is doing right now.

*Our new favorite cookie is a Nelda Way-pa (nilla wafer). You should see how fast the baby can eat one of those things. Seriously, I gave him one the other night and 2 minutes later, he was squealing for more. They do kind of frustrate him though because he gets them stuck in the palm of his hand. But, he has figured out if he sucks his thumb, there is enough spit that gets on the cookie to make the taste drain into his mouth. Look, he doesn't care how he gets the food, he just wants it.

*We all LOVE Bible Class! This past Sunday was great. First of all, WB was able to go with us. He has been working since we have started the whole Bible School Boot Camp program and hasn't witnessed the whole shinannigan. Church lasted very long on Sunday for whatever reason and Sissy was asking to go to class about half way through. They have Celebration Station for her age, but the teachers aren't the same every week, so I am not sure if we are ready to be left with strangers yet. I ask her if she wants to go and she says no. Maybe in a couple weeks. I am still kind of afraid to rock the boat too much since everything seems to be going so well. Anyway, since she is free to talk at home anytime she pleases, she will do the same during church, but only when it is really quiet or a serious moment. Last Sunday, I had to change the baby's diaper and she announced...Shew-wee Bubba's diaper stank. Then, a little boy was being baptised and she said...They get in water up there. We will be working on this. Since both of them are in class now, I feel empty going to class with nothing in my hands/arms.

*I have jumped on The Shack bandwagon. I am not one to ride bandwagons (although I did have the Jennifer Anniston haircut in high school), but I needed something non-parental responsibility to read. (And I found it cheap at COSTCO last week) I have heard a lot about it, and so far I like it. It makes you think about things that you know, but probably don't dwell upon in your normal day to day operation of life.

*Do y'all use your bra pocket as much as I do? (told you this would be random)...if you are male, you might want to skip this one. My mom taught me this well and it has come in handy many a time for me. Like today...the babies are both having the runny nose and my shorts don't have pockets, so I have to keep the kleenex in there. Where else would I put them? You never know when someone might be blowing a snot bubble and you need to be prepared at all times. I have been known to forget that I put something in my bra pocket and go to feed the baby for him only to be showered by whatever I was stashing at that moment. It's a great place for money, driver's license, toys you are trying to hide from your kids, you name it. My mom is even known for putting her cell phone in hers. When Sissy was born, mom had her phone in there (on vibrate). We started hearing the vibration but could not find the phone (she couldn't feel it for all of the other stuff she had in there...she didn't want to carry a purse). WB thinks it is odd to put anything in a bra pocket, so he remembered what she had done and was the one to announce to my mom that her boob was ringing. Hilarious! She was so embarrassed!

*I miss working with WB. I use to help him on the weekends and we really had a good time even though it was hot as everything and I would beg him to fire me every afternoon at 2:00 (the hottest part of the day.) I would get my second wind by 4:00 and could sail on through until 9 or 10 pretty easily. I think that is what I miss the most about my pre-babies life. I guess I am still making things grow and bloom, just my kids instead of plants. More rewarding definitley...I just wish WB were able to enjoy it more with us.

*I love nap time! Even though now that I have started an earlier nap time with Sissy, the kids are not asleep at the same time, I still love it. I can get so much done with just 1 awake! (why didn't I know this when I only had 1?)

*I am 2 weeks out of the what's for dinner rut and doing pretty well. I will try to post some recipes (see the above bullet point) when I get a chance. We have had chicken broccoli alfredo, chili, chicken pot pie, homemade sloppy joes, and lots of other things that I am having a hard time remembering right now. WB is glad, let me tell you. We've all probably gained a few pounds.

See...random.

What I made during nap today

I saw these on Etsy and decided that I could make them myself. And here they are...pumpkins and Minnie Mouse hairbows.

Then, I thought, Hey what about a tiger paw! Do yall think this looks like a tiger paw? Be honest.

And I thought it would be nice for Sissy to put one in her hair so that I could show you what they would look like in. 'No, T.O. wants to wear em. Not Sissy.' So, you will probably never see them in my child's hair. She did carry them around with her all night and wanted to sleep with them. Maybe she likes them.
I had planned to make all of her hairbows and then when she was born, she had very little hair. So, until she was about 10-12 months old, there wasn't enough hair for bows. I still put them in and looking back at pictures, it looks like she had this bow stuck on top of her head because her hair was so light. Now, I am tired of buying hairbows so I am back on the making hairbows kick. Plus, I need some kind of creative outlet and I am procrastinating catching up on 4+ months of bookwork for the business.
I am going to try to fix my sewing machine and get started on some projects since I haven't sewed in 7 months. I want to learn applique...I saw a really cute matching outfit for the kids that I want to try to duplicate. We will see how far I get...stay tuned.

Bible Class Update

***This is the 2nd of 2 posts today. I forgot to talk about this while on my rant, so be sure to scroll down and check that one out too***

Today went great! She didn't want to go of course (Mom and Mamaw D came to help me with the kids) so I sat in the auditorium holding her for a little bit. Then I carried her all the way there with no cries. She went to Ms. Lori and cried which I have decided must only be for my sake now or because that is what she thinks she is suppose to do. Then I went to get Bubba to take him to class and passed by hers only to hear no crying coming from her room! YAY!! When I picked her up, she was sitting in a chair, nowhere near Ms. Lori, eating a snack. WOW!! All the way home and before nap she was singing "Pray Everyday, Pray Everyday." I need to find out the words to that song because I don't know it. I love to hear her sing, which is her new favorite thing to do.
Bubbalicious was due for a nap but I took him to class anyway and he was awake when I went to get him. They said that he was so cute and smiled and laughed and kicked in his seat the whole time. Look I know this baby is just adorable and easy as pie, but it's nice when other people tell you that too. He just makes my heart melt!
So, we had a good church day! We just miss WB who is out working in all of this rainy nasty mess outside.
Another thing and then I am going to clip coupons...does anyone know of a good Bible Study/Book to read? I am in the need of something other than baby related material at this very moment. Any suggestions?

Silly Sunday

It was originally going to be Silly Saturday but then this happened...

and it became Stinkin' Mad Saturday, so I wasn't in a bloggie kinda mood. I will come back to this ridiculousness.

On to the silliness...Sissy decided that she wanted to be creative with her bib at breakfast Saturday morning. She normally doesn't wear a bib anymore, unless she is eating messy food, and she was having 'yogerk' which always seems to get everywhere. This is how she put her bib on. It really made me heehaw and I just realized it may not be as funny to everyone else. Humor Me, OK?

And this is what she HAD to wear to the grocery store that morning too. I promise none of it was my idea! Yes, those are sparkle shoes. We left trails of glitter all around the grocery store.

Bubba was dressed in his AU outfit...he doesn't seem to have an opinion on clothes yet. Luckily. See how silly and fun our day started out?

Then after the gro visit, I decided it would be a great idea to go out to Momma and Daddy's (Aunt Shanie, I used 2 m's just for you). Now, it was 10:30-11-ish and I knew I was on thin ice with Sissy falling asleep in the car. This is something I hate because it is a sure nap spoiler, and naps are my favorite part of the day plus we had church the next day, etc. So, we're riding along pointing out cows and horses and trucks that look like daddy's. I see that I am about to lose her, so we start singing. I am belting out B-I-N-G-O coming up a hill and there he is. So, I slam on the breaks and he immediately turns on the lights. UGH!!! I had no idea what the speed limit was nor what I was going, but I was pretty sure it was not what I was suppose to be doing. I mean, who can drive like a granny and sing B-I-N-G-O? It is definitely an up-tempo song.
So he tells me I am going something way over the speed limit and here's my ticket, blah blah blah. I am so stinkin' mad at myself. I mean, yes, I admit that I do not always go the speed limit. Who even knows what the speed limit is anywhere anymore? I don't have time to be looking for the signs. I have 2 kids in the back to entertain, hand out snacks to, etc. It has been 12 years since I had my last ticket. I guess I am due since I somehow went 4 years to Auburn and 6 1/2 years driving back and forth to Decatur everyday without one. But, now?
Do you know how much it costs to speed? Well, let me tell you, it's not cheap! For 1-25 miles over the limit, it's $155. For over 25, it's $175. I will say that I was going 19 over, so at least I was making the most of my money. I mean, if I were going 5 miles over the limit, I would have been mad that I had to pay what those going 20 over the limit had to pay.
Not that it makes it any better. Now, as most of you know, I am 'Queen of Cheap' and I DO NOT like to spend money. I like to hoard it up in a spot that only I know about just in case we may need it one day. My nickname when I was little was 'Mozell Tightwad' according to my brother because I saved all of my birthday money. When I was a freshman at AU, it was the end of the quarter, so like most other college kids that were living on loans, I was down to nothing but koolaid and ramen noodles. My daddy somehow saw my checking account statement and got mad at me because I didn't have hardly any $ left and I didn't tell them. (I didn't think it was their responsibility to give me money) So, he gave me a 100-dollar-bill for emergencies and do you know that I still have that thing...the exact one. Enough examples of my tightwad-edness?
So the fact that I have to give this $155 to the city or state or whoever makes me want to throw up! Do you know how far I can make $155 go? I would go into great detail here because believe me, I have thought about it...but it makes me so upset that I just don't want to go there anymore.
So, if you get behind a gray maxima, you had better pack a lunch because I will be going to speed limit from now on. Sorry.
What did WB say about all of this when I called him crying? 'Well, just start driving slower. I'm sure my turn is next.' Not the reaction I was expecting, but I am thankful he wasn't mad at me. He has had 2 tickets in the 7 short years we've been together. That's probably why he was so nice.

Farm School and a Birthday

Tuesday was my Daddy's 58th birthday! We had a little celebration on Sunday afternoon and then had dinner at my parent's on Tuesday night. Mamaw D was there and we brought Papaw out as well. It was definitely good for their souls to see the kiddos. Sissy loves to sing Happy Birthday so she was excited to sing for Papa. I think she sang for 5 minutes then blew out his candle.
I love my daddy, y'all! Me and daddy are like peas and carrots. I am still the biggest daddy's girl that has ever walked this earth, let me tell you. And that will definitely NEVER change! Happy B-day Daddy...We Love You lots and lots!!

We also had a mini session of 'Farm School' today. My brother (Uncle Bub) and his oldest Jay came up from Montgomery for the day to pick corn. So, me and the babies went out to ride with them. Sissy and Jay ADORE each other. According to Jay, Sissy is his 'sister cousin' because he has always wanted a sister. And, Sissy will do anything he does...so since she didn't want to ride the combine the other day because it was 'too loud' I thought this might be my only opportunity to get her on there this year. And, it worked! She rode in the 'sleeping spot' with Jay and then didn't want to get off. We ate lunch with them in the field and she thought she was something else. Bubba was his same old laid back self and was looking for something to grab on the combine. When Sissy was his age, it would put her to sleep. He was too busy trying to get it all figured out. Maybe he will be good help for Papa soon...when he isn't landscaping with daddy! Sis called WB and here is how she summed it up for him "I ride Combine...it's bouncy bouncy!"

Jay and Bubba

Uncle Bub, Sissy, and Jay while we were waiting to offload all of the corn on the buggy. Oh, and T.O. wanted to ride too.

Jay showing Sissy where the corn comes in after it's shelled by the combine.

Sissy and her best brother cousin Jay...the 2 blondies of the bunch!

Whew!

You know when you have a big event at your home and you work and prepare for it for a while, then it's over and you feel like you can breathe again...That's how I feel today! My yearly hosting of bunko was last night and I am so glad it is over. Don't get me wrong...I love having people over. It is just a lot of work to have those things, especially with 2 kids and a hubby that works all of the time (23 hours straight yesterday). But, I did it...and my mom helped with the kiddos. And I must say that I am glad it is not my turn again until 12 months from now! (Which will fly by I am sure!)
Bubba (or Butter as Sissy now calls him) is getting so big y'all! He is jumping so high in anything that he can stand up in. He is wanting to eat everything...which is why he is trying to get 3 teeth at the same time. I think he is tired of the purees I am making him so he thinks if he gets more teeth that I will give him real food. I do find myself giving him stuff I would have never let Sissy have at 7 months. Not table food per say, but he is having Ritz crackers and things just to get him through until I can get his food ready. He fusses if he is in the high chair and nothing edible is in front of him. But, don't you dare sit at the table without him. I have a feeling he is going to be like my brother. I swear he has a tapeworm (I am sure that is not how you spell it) He can eat 6 meals a day and still have to eat a bowl of cereal before going to bed or he will get hungry during the night. And he's skinny too...let's hope Bubba has his metabolism. Mine and WB's don't work that way!
Sissy is Miss Chatter Box...and BOSSY! I don't know who she would have taken that after :) We were at my mom's last week and my grandmother has been staying there since she had her stroke. Well, she has a lady Ms. Norma (or Ms. Nora per the Sis) that stays with her during the day. Sissy was shy around her for the first hour-normal behavior with anyone- but then all of the sudden she decided that she needed to order her around. Ms. Nora, that's too loud...Ms. Nora get in kitchen...Ms. Nora push me in. We are working on please and she does say it pretty good, but not every time. What a mess. Everything is a song now too...she loves to sing Jesus Loves Me, Happy B-day, Light (this little light of mine), The Blessing has to be sung at meals, Bingo, BIBLE, etc. She even sings her sentences sometimes. And, her step stool has become her new best friend. She has realized that she can reach so many more things while standing on it and the TV in our room is her favorite thing to turn on. So, needless to say, she is busy.
Oh, and as for Bible Class...she cried all the way there, but just a small cry, not the normal throw my head back and scream as if someone were kidnapping me. Then she locked on to me until I got out of there. I didn't stick around to see how long it lasted, but when we picked her up, her eyes were not red, her hair was dry and she looked like a normal child being picked up from Bible Class (instead of one that cried the whole 45 minutes)and she was sitting in a chair looking at a book. So, I am crossing my fingers that she will soon be able to walk down the hall and into the room with no tears flowing from her eyes. That will probably happen just in time for the teachers to change.
Here are a few pics of the kids just in case you haven't seen enough of them lately. Enjoy!

Biscuit's Backyard

So, I lied. I am posting today even though I said it would be after Monday. I have a lot of things floating in my head right now, but will save that for another time. I wanted to get this out while all of the sweet memories are still fresh in my noggin.

Today we went to EarlyWorks Museum with Allyson and her twins, Brooks and Isabella (or I-bella, as Sissy says. It use to be I-bawda, so we are getting closer) The kids had the best time as you can see by the pictures. I will narrate them, then give my tips (like I did with the Botanical Gardens) just in case anyone wants my 2 cents. Also, there is not even 1 picture of anyone looking at the camera, and if they are, their eyes are shut. Part of it is due to my camera being slow and the other is the fact that they are all 2-ish.
Our attempt at a group picture. It never works for us.

This is Sissy with the banjo...the instrument she just kept going to. Almost like she was drawn to it, like she knew her momma use to play the banjo. Notice the emphasis on use to.

Here is my girl at the cash register. She loved it. This is hereditary too...I wanted a cash register when I was little, but my parents would only buy me a adding machine with tape. My friend Emily (that took our pictures) got a real one from Sam's...I didn't. I was so deprived! I still want one. Seriously. But I want real money going in it.

As you can see, they had so much fun. They only left because we told them it was time to eat lunch. This room was for toddlers up to age 5 or so. Bubba was with us, but for some reason, I didn't take his picture. He wanted to run around with Brooks so bad. There is a place for babies to crawl around, but we aren't there yet.
Here are my tips:
1. Go early (same as with the BGs). We got there at 9:30 and there was NO ONE there. Then by 10-10:30 it got really full. They open at 9. That is when we are going next time.
2. They said Thursdays are their slowest days, but it will be picking up due to field trips soon, so go now because it's too early in the year for field trips.
3. Park your stroller where the sign says too even though "That Ugly Mommy," you know the one, will be there. She was there today and she was really yucky to Allyson because her stroller was in her way even though it was parked where it was suppose to be. Then she was rude to the lady she was there with. Bad day or not, put your big girl panties on. Then she decided to nurse her baby in the middle of the barn area...over by the big cow that you can milk. Appropriate place I guess, but not appropriate in the middle of Biscuits Backyard with 12+ kids under 3 running around. Now, don't get me wrong...I breastfeed/fed both of my younguns, but there is such a thing as being discreet. For some reason, there are women that feel that it is their right to whip it out wherever they want. I think that is done just for show and to make people uncomfortable. And it makes us discreet mommies look bad. So look out for this lady.

About Allyson and the kids...A has been a friend since we were in utero (I am a month older than her). Our moms have known each other since 3rd grade (I think) and dads have known each other since before that. Therefore, we know each other pretty well. It is one of those friendships that you can lose years but pick up right where you left off. We are alike, yet different. It's nice to have! So, we get the kids together once a week and they LOVE to play together. It's fun. (The twins are 5 1/2 months younger than Sissy)
Anyway, I will post more later-I hear WB rumbling in the cabinets. I guess I need to feed the poor guy.

Labor Day...that's exactly what it was here. I got up, made a big breakfast (WB was home for a little bit Mon. morning and he wanted biscuits, gravy, sausage, etc.), made food for a family that had a baby, made lunch and supper for us. Washed 6 loads of laundry and folded 7...not sure where that 7th one came from. Did bookwork/sent out invoices for the business. Paid our own bills (yuck!). Cleaned up dishes about 6 times, cleaned up toys about 23 times, changed 15 diapers, gave 2 baths and one to myself amazingly, kissed 4 booboos, rocked a couple babies, sang "This little light of mine" about 45 times, said "Do you need to go to the corner?" every other breath, and finally went to bed. So, labor day was just like every other day for me!
Sunday night we did get to go to dinner as a family which was nice. We tagged along with WB to Providence School where he has been building their track, softball and baseball fields for the last month. I haven't been able to check on the progress, so it was nice to see. While we were there, we went to dinner and Sissy walked up to the door and said she wanted pizza. (Not sure how she knew we were going Italian) This was Bubba's 2nd time sitting in a high chair at a restaurant. He still grunted at me to feed him faster. No different than home. Then he cried all the way home because it was bed time and he knew he wasn't where he was suppose to be. Since he never cries (that is not an exaggeration) it was nice to know that he can. WB made the comment that he hadn't heard him cry like that since the day he was born. Which is true. This also upset Sissy who kept saying "Bubba's still crying!" just in case we couldn't hear him.
Oh, and since all of you (the 4 people who actually read this thing) have been sitting on the edge of your seats, Sissy did well in Bible Class. It was a big fight to get her there, but she actually sat in her own seat and colored her own picture. I was so proud of her. I am thankful for the lady that held Bubba for me while I took her to class (I guess I had this "Help me" look on my face). I think her name was Kelly. Bubba went to class too...1st time and was so CUTE! He was the good little baby and chewed on everything she gave him. I stayed in there to help because the teacher didn't show up. I am glad he was actually awake for this because I want to start him earlier than Sissy so that maybe we will be able to skip through this not wanting to go to class thing with him.
I have a few other funny things to share, but will have to defer to later. I have bunko at my house next Monday night, so you might not hear from me until that is over.
