Even though we were there, I totally stole these pictures

Last Friday was Disney Day for the kids!
We started the day at our good friend's house for Breakfast and Buzz. The kids laid in the floor and watched the Toy Story movie while we cooked bacon, pancakes, cheese grits and fruit for them.
Ok, so really only one of them got through the whole movie. They did a lot of roaming and playing while it was on. And Buddy danced. He can get down, y'all. And he has been known to do it at the local Bridge Street. I think I may take him back one night when there is a large crowd and put a hat by his feet. Let him pay for my neck and back surgery from having to carry him around everywhere.

Later that afternoon, we headed over to see "Mickey and Duck' as Buddy says.
This is the best picture I got out of the whole night. The ones of Buddy are the back of his head because he wouldn't take his eyes off Mickey and repeated "Ook, Mickey" about 9763 times in that hour and 45 minutes. Oh, if Mickey left the stage, he would say "Where Mickey go?"
See that man in the right of the picture? Everytime Buddy said one of the above phrases, it was right in that guy's ear. He thought it was funny before intermission...I think he had grown tired of it by part 2.

Since I didn't get any good ones, I just yanked them from Amy's blog. I knew she would get some, and closer up than mine, so I just waited for her to post. Good strategy, right? (Thanks Amy!)
This has all of Buddy's favorite people-Buzz, Woody (also known as Buzz), Minnie (also known as Mickey), Mickey, Tigger (called Grrr), and behind him is Jessie (also known as Buzz Sissy).

This was one of Sister's favorite people. The guy, not the characters. For the first part of the show she wanted to know who he was and what he was doing there. By the second part, she wanted to know where he was at all times. When people ask her who she saw, she says, Mickey, Buzz, Woody, and that guy that we don't know his name.  She loved it and danced the second half, where Buddy danced the whole first half.  At the end she told me that she wished she could hug them.
I think they had a blast! It was fun seeing their faces when everyone came out-although each time Cinderella came out, I almost lost both of them. There was not a lot of interest in her, so it was a good thing I had some snacks in my purse.  Works every time!

Spring Break was {almost} a Blowout-the almost blowout part

Sorry for this-it was so much crazier when it was happening and I had already promised you a part 2, so here it is. You don't have to read it.

So, in the last edition, we were at Spring Park wearing ourselves out with our cousins.
We ate lunch at The Palace and left a HUGE mess. Then walked around some of the shops downtown. Upon entering the Feed & Seed, Buddy said "OOHH! Shop!" WB would be so proud! His dream is for our shop to look like an old store. It certainly smells like one.  He would have been so happy to know that Buddy thought of the shop when he walked in.
Then we played musical cars with all of the kids and headed back to the lakehouse.
Later that night, my daddy looked at me and said "I have some bad news."
One of my brand new tires, that had been purchased at the beginning of spring break, was flat.
Outstanding.
So, we talked about how/where we were going to get it fixed on a Sunday in an area we weren't totally familiar with. Walmart was the only choice on a Sunday, so the next morning, daddy changed it in the rain and took it over.
Then, I get the call. It can't be fixed because there is a gash in the sidewall. (This was where the almost blowout occured...The Lord was obviously with us because it was a pretty big gash and I had just been driving the car.)
Wonderful.
Oh, and my spare was low.
So, we did what all people do in this situation.
Ate lunch.
Then I started heading home earlier than I had planned because
A)I am on a spare
B)It was also low
C)There was a monsoon of rain outside
D)But it had to be done in the daylight
Oh at the wailing from the kids because we were leaving early.
Once we get loaded, warned the kids that they better hold on to everything because I was going to be driving with 2 hands, and said a big ol prayer, we started heading home. Luckily the kids were exhausted from the weekend and slept most of the way home.
Because, did I say there was a monsoon? Oh, my word! There were white cap waves on the road there was so much water. And I was going 40 because of this crazy spare.
About 1.5 hours into the suppose-to-be 1.5 hour drive, the natives awoke. And Buddy was restless.
Evidently, someone told him that I could hold him and drive. Because he started screaming his head off with his arms in the air, yelling "MEEE MEEE MEEE" which means hold me.
And then I heard the 2 words I didn't want to hear when I was trying to drive like Granny with both hands on the wheel going 40 in a 55.
'BeBe Down!'
Great. There was no way I could get BeBe (his lovie) because my hands were permanent fixtures on the wheel from being so tense and nervous. And, I was afraid to let go and lean-you know, what you aren't really suppose to do, but do all the time with kids in the back seat?
So, we heard screaming for the next half hour.
Sister was saying "Mommy, I can't hear the music because Buddy is being really loud!" Or something like that. I couldn't hear her because Buddy was being really loud.
Then we finally made it home. And once I peeled my hands from the wheel, he stopped crying because I held him.
And, I evidently have Road Hazard Warranty and only had to pay for them to put the new tire on.
Look how good the Lord is! He didn't allow my tire to blow while I was driving AND he made sure I had the warranty thing. He's wonderful isn't he?
Now I need a massage. Between holding Buddy for the last 3 weeks straight and driving on a spare, I am pretty tense!

Spring Break was {almost} a Blowout-Part 1 Spring Park

This past week was our first real Spring Break experience-it was the first year I have had a baby in school. We really had a lot of fun! It started out low key with a few playdates, some shopping (something I usually do once a season-I do not enjoy it at all, especially when it is for myself!), some lunch dates, lots of dancing, and finally getting to play outside at the end of the week! We even got to spend some time building a 'gravel castle' at the shop with daddy!
And, I took no pictures of any of this.
Why? Because my son has become my permanent hip attachment. And my neck and back really hurt. I still wish I were an octopus. Or Inspector Gadget.
I have heard and said many times that Boys love their mommas-I didn't know that he would love me this much. I hate to inform him that I am really not that great. I am sure he will figure it out soon enough.  I think I am gonna make him a shirt that says "My mom's hip" get it?

I did get some shots from our Birthday Weekend at the Lake. It was Jay and Coco's b-days and Jay chose to have the party at the lake this year. It was too cold to get out, and they had the water down, so we took the crew over to Spring Park in Tuscumbia. The kids LOVED it!!
They have a train, carousel, and roller coaster, plus a big play area. It will be a fun place to visit this summer!
Waiting on the train to take off!

Look how big Zackie Bug is! So cute!! I think he might be our red-head like his momma!

My kids loved the train of course! Here they are on the engine!

This is Sister's first 'roller coastie' ride. You can see how much she liked it-I made it large so you could really feel the emotion! And, so you could understand why everyone was staring back at her! She told Uncle Bub that she was done after the first lap! Little did she know that she had to go 3 more times!
(I was not on here because I do not do roller coasters. for kids or adults. no. way.)

Then my mom had the great idea to 'get a picture with all my babies.' Good, right?
Buddy was crying because I put him down.  and ran away
Up next were the 'Nays' as Buddy says. This was his favorite!

And Coco's too!
Do y'all know how hard it is to take a picture on a carousel while it is turning-and not throw up?

Sister was still a little shell shocked from the coastie. She said she would just sit on the carousel bench.
No nays for her today.
And back on the train for the 90 millionth time.

He may be a clinger, but he is a sweet thing!

We ended our time here on the swings while everyone else was riding the carousel and coaster. This is Sister's favorite thing to do outside! She screams with excitement because swinging 'gets her belly.'
Can't wait for summer-time!

Stay tuned for Part 2 later this week.

Oh, Bob-you make me so happy!

Sister was not blessed with the good hair genes of her brother! We have been battling the thin hairs for almost 4 years now! And, oh my, it has driven me crazy! I always thought I would have a little girl with hair down to her booty like mine was when I was little. And, I was ready to start making her sleep in pink sponge rollers from day 4 like I always had to. But, then I was given a little girl with peach fuzz and the dreams of sponge rollers were tossed aside with the hairbows.  (But, it does make sense that I craved peaches my last 2 months of pregnancy)
SO, finally, FINALLY! The growth has begun...and we have been sporting the stringy hair since we are really working on the thickness and not the length. And, by working on, I mean, we have been really praying for the hair to get here so that no one thought momma was trying to bring back the mullet. Because, I do not want to be blamed for that. Oh, no.
I have been trying to talk Sister into a little trim in hopes that it might help with the look of thickness and also a sort of style. Style. For a 3 year old. Although there was a little chicken that ran around the first try, but once we gave it a name, it was game on. So, here it is...The BOB!

The only problem is she will still not let me blow dry it, but she will let me brush it more than once a day! And, curl it under with a curling iron, but only if she gets a smartie. Wow at the difference! A little more effort on my part, but totally worth it! And, using Sister new favorite phrase "That is SOOO Cute!"

Good intentions

Sometimes I feel like Buddy here-stuck between the window and the blinds with nothing else to do but yell "Da Burd! Da Burd!" and press my face up to the glass. I have such good intentions and end up needing to split myself into about 7 different me's. {Please pass along the tutorial on how to do that!} If I could learn how to have a good intention instead of multiple intentions, I don't think I would get so overwhelmed.
I can't decide-should I get up and work out in the mornings just to be tired when it is time to work? Or should I just work and not work out so that I can get my stuff done with energy? I wish sewing burned calories! Do I spend much needed time with friends and have adult conversations? Or do I communicate strictly though email and text so that I can get things accomplished?  Do I sit on the floor with my babies and play cars and make crafts or do I clean the dried up food and milk spots off the kitchen chairs?
I am sure you all have the same struggles~how do you do it all?
