This Week miscellaneous

We finally got to enjoy our Little Cowboy party! Just 9 days after his actual birthday. And I thought we were going to have to cancel it again because of more snow, but it melted, only to get to the party location and the lady say "Someone just called and cancelled the party for tonight." Um, no! This will definitely go down as 'The party that almost wasn't, again and again.'

He LOVES all of his Cars cars and trucks! So, he had to sleep ON all of them and was lining them up in a row front to back, over and over until finally falling asleep at about 9:30.

This was party week because we also had Sister's Valentine party at school. Buddy was so excited to be there! He sat in line when they did and stood up to sing and copy all of their motions! And he cheered them on, screaming "YAY! YAY!" and clapping. Sister is loving school so much now! She will make comments like, "I can't do {whatever me and buddy are doing that day} because I go to school now. And I don't cry like a baby!"

Here's Buddy participating in a song.

And Sister made me a valentine present! It is a tile with her handprints in the shape of a heart. I cried when she gave it to me! I am usually the one that makes things with the kids to give to other people. So, when I get something made for me, by them...I am just a mess.
{Although, I am beginning to think I have some crazy hormonal issues, because I cry about everything! It's very frustrating!}

I can't tell you how glad I am that Buddy has finally found a way to transport Bebe and all 14 of his favorite cars from room to room! There have been MAJOR fits over dropping them on the way to Sissy's room from his room or from the kitchen to the den. Luckily, Papa gave the kids dump trucks for Christmas! Now he just puts them in there and goes all through the house! I was beginning to think I was going to have to make him a purse!
Hope y'all have a wonderful Valentine's Day! We will be home having Dump Truck Races!

If you like it, then you should put some fabric on it

Know what this is?
Happy fabric, Wonky ruffle, Ribbon
Some hints-It is something I have been trying to really 'use' a lot more, get to know it, understand it, teach it, live it, believe it, scribble in it, memorize it, trust it.
I thought if I put some fabric on it, it would make me want to bring it out more and I was right. Just looking at it makes me happy, but then when I really start using it, WOW!

You've probably guessed it by now, but just in case...

** Open to one of my favorite passages-Proverbs 31. I think of my Mamaw every time I read it. She was THE Proverbs 31 woman-something I am aspiring to be.

I don't think I have told you, but my Bible Study group is doing Beth Moore's Believing God study. It's really amazing the number of OOHHH! moments I have had and we are only on session 2 of 10.
The premise is that there is a difference in believing IN God and BELIEVING God. Believing IN God is believing he exists basically. But, BELIEVING Him is actually presently believing He IS who He says He is and can do what He says He can do.
One of the things Beth said today that really stuck out to me was that we don't have to know the why of everything. {How hard is that for a woman-to not know why?} But, believing the loving, kind, good God that we know, we have faith that He is taking care of it all, and has a plan for us. And, the amount of faith we have will be the amount of power God has in us. According to 1 Peter 1:7, 'faith has a greater worth than gold...may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.'
Isn't that powerful-that FAITH is worth more than gold? Y'all know what gold is going for these days. What you sell it for at the gold parties is only a fraction of what it is actually worth. But, that our faith can be worth more than that?  And if we increase our faith-just imagine what God can do with us and for us!
God is so awesome!

So, I am loving my new Bible Cover! Not just because of what it looks like on the outside (although it really does make me smile). But, also for what it says on the inside, which is the real reason I am happy.

Birthday Boy

Here he is y'all! My 2 year-old. The Toddler. My sweet baby boy that is no longer considered a baby. See that little drip of spit hanging off his chin? I am still considering him a baby until he no longer drools on my floors.  See those long eye lashes and blue eyes? They get me every time, y'all! And I can't help it! And he knows it. But what you can't see are his big dimples, the ones he shows mommy-especially when he is in trouble. It is so hard to keep a stern face when he does that.
And WB tells me I need to get a grip. {He's just jealous!}

We had to postpone the birthday party because I would have felt really bad if someone hit a patch of ice on the way. But, luckily he was too young to notice. And Sister was excited about having a birthday, 'just us, no friends' {only because I hyped that up, not that she doesn't like friends}.

But, we had our birthday Banana Pudding and sang Happy Birthday to one excited little boy.
Why, Yes, that is a 2 in the meringue of the banana pudding. Glad you noticed! I happen to be a meringue expert these days.
Look how happy that sweet thang is!!

So, at 2 Buddy is:
  • talking up a storm and putting 2 word sentences together. His favorites are 'Where Dadee?' 'Where Sissy?' 'Uv EE' (love you) and also 'No, Mys'
  • jabbering sentences and the last word is usually the only thing we can understand. Most sentences end with moo, brm (tractor or car), nunch (lunch, or any meal), or Sissy.
  • loving all tractors, and any cars from the Cars movie. He walks around with McQueen, Strip Weathers and Chick Hicks along with Bebe. And he is usually trying to carry a tractor as well. All of this is shoved under his chin because he is afraid Sister will try to take it from him.
  • sleeping so good in his big boy bed. Every morning there are a lot more toys in the bed than what was there the night before! I think he likes it.
  • trying a lot more food! It is still a little hit or miss, but he has eaten meatloaf and taco meat in the last week. And, peanut butter and jelly, but not the bread. He just opens the sandwich up and licks it off of the bread. We only have those on bath night!
  • so sweet to his sister, but can definitely play without her too. There is some fussing going on, don't get me wrong, but overall they are the best of friends! He doesn't like her to be put in the corner and tries to bring her toys and give her hugs when she is there.
  • still a little snuggle boy! I LOVE that!! He loves hugs and kisses and loves to cuddle.
  • is going through a bout of separation anxiety right now. He has always loved Bible Class and nursery, but over the last month, he has started crying when I drop him off.  And he doesn't like it when I hold other kids from his class. I can hold my friend's babies and Sister, but not kids in his class from church. Boys love their mommas!
  • just now showing his temper. He has been Mr. Laid-back Easy-peasy, but now has developed a little bit of 2 year old attitude. It's still not bad, but for him, it's different.
  • But, he is the best little boy around and I love him so much!!
So, Happy Birthday Buddy! Please don't grow too fast this year!
I'll post pics of his cowboy party once we have it~

Workin' on it: Part 2

So, I told y'all earlier about how I am working on my prayer life this year. And, how God knows I can't do it all by myself. Then, low and behold, 2 of my friends have recently blogged about PRAYING FOR OUR CHILDREN. Look at how we are all workin together here y'all and helpin each other. Just like God wants us to.

Go see Amy for a great prayer opportunity!

Go see Hillary for a great prayer schedule!

LOVE my friends!

I'll be back with some Birthday Boy stuff (even though we postponed the party.) But, there will be pictures with my own camera!! I might even do a Christmas post since I didn't get to do that way back in December.
Happy Monday!

P.S. Doesn't low and behold look weird spelled out?
