A Ladybug and a Spider

That's what we were this year. I wanted to do Miss Muffet and a spider but since I have a 2 year old with an opinion who stated "No, I don't wanna be Miss Muffet, I wanna be a 'pider like Bubba" I decided to talk her into a ladybug (which she loves so it wasn't hard) and go with that. I was not going to waste my time making a Miss Muffet when I know this strong willed little girl would not wear it. Not sure where the strong willed comes from :)
We have attended lots of Halloween festivities over the past week so I will just narrate all of the pictures.

Here they are on their way to the annual Halloween Party at our good friend's house 2 doors down. Notice the big pumpkin was not carved yet...it was going with us for the pumkin carvin that the guys do. (the finished product is below) Brooke has a really good camera and took lots of pictures, so this is the only one I have. All of the others are on snapfish. Sorry. But, it was an action packed night to say the least. Our buds know how to throw a halloween party!
Funfest was last Sunday at our church. We came home and napped real quick so that we could get back to the 'carnival' as we had been referring to it. This was the picture scene. Sissy did not want her picture taken and Bubba wanted to eat the hay. Usual.
Sissy really only cared about the playground and this thing. She loves going 'ring round rosie' which is what she says anytime she is doing anything in a circular motion.
Bubba is wearing my daddy's hat from when he was a baby. It also has a coat and overalls that match which I am sure you will see him in again. He looks so cute in it. Yall know this is the best baby. EVER. He napped about 25 minutes during church and about 1 1/2 hours at home. He was up from 2:30-8pm and did not whimper one time! What a good one!
Here's the pumpkin. He was so much cuter the day after being carved. This was him a week later after someone apparently took his upper false teeth out. I can't even get the pumpkin to cooperate for a picture!
Sister Bug on Halloween (I think we lost our antenae at the doctor's office earlier that day. She said she should wear it so she could get candy. Little did she know she would be getting the flu mist.) Potty training is going pretty good. There were a couple of days where she would say "I don't want to go potty. Thank you for telling me." At least she's polite.
My little Bubba Spider who turned 9 months on Halloween. He is 22# 2oz and 27 1/2 inches, getting tooth #6, turning circles in his bed, saying MaMa, Dada, Buba, Hi and just being the sweetest little boy I could have ever dreamed of.
Sissy in action. It only took her a few times to realize if she said "Whick or Wheat" she would get candy. She would almost whisper it though. But, she was the loud one when people's dogs came out. She would yell "NO DOG!" Now, go back and read that in the most southern accent you can come up with. (We trick or treated with 3 other families)
Bubba Spider and Daddy. Why, you say, does WB have on that same orange shirt in every picture? Because he LOVES it and wears it all of the time. Buy him something else, you say? I have. He doesn't 'dress up' in real clothes much, but when he does he wants to wear the same bright as everything orange shirt. He even has Sissy telling him to wear it so he can say she wants him to. It may mysteriously disappear one day. Things like that have been known to happen around here. At least he was with us though!
Hope y'all had a good one and have already hidden all but a few pieces of the candy like I did.

Happy Birthday Mimae!

Today is my Mom's birthday! We were suppose to have a dinner here, but it was changed to lunch, and luckily the kids and I had already made a quick trip to Publix for cake, balloons, etc this morning. I am usually a cake baker and not buyer, but I didn't get it together yesterday. So, we had to get the only white cake they had with yellow and chocolate icing. Very 70s if you ask me, but it served it's purpose. (We are in the midst of potty training this week, so we are hanging out at the house to see if we can get this accomplished.)
We decorated with a banner and balloons. Sissy was sure to point out to Mimae that her balloons were the colored ones. When we picked out the mylars, Sissy said "Mimae doesn't want to take these home with her." Anyway, Sissy actually ate a tomato and a couple of bites of Steakout Hamburger at lunch. (She knows what's good!) Usually she has no veges and definitley nothing that even looks like hamburger meat. I think she wanted cake really bad!!
Now, my mom is the best, y'all. She fills in for WB when he is working and I need help(which is a lot) and I know I couldn't do anything without her. I am very blessed to have her that is for sure. She loves these babies and they love her. Granted, we fuss...a lot, but that is our relationship. And, I can only hope that me and the Sis are best buds one day like me and momma.
I want to end this post with a funny story about momma, but I am not sure if I should talk about how she drives a stick shift, or the interesting meals that have come out of her inability to follow a recipe, or how she caught the house on fire that time, or when we went to Weight Watchers together, or when she had her halo (when she broke her neck) and she came eye to eye with a hummingbird. I think I will tell y'all about the time we went to the Botanical Gardens for a garden show thing and it was potty break time. There were about 55 women and 3 men. We had to go real bad and walked into an empty restroom. We thought it was kind of odd since a ladies restroom is always full. Then a man comes out of the stall and gives us a funny look. We, of course, return the look because why in the world would a man be coming out of the stall of the women's bathroom and who was he to think he could give us a funny look? He was the one in the wrong bathroom. Then, we notice the urinals. HHMMMM.
Happy birthday Mom! Here's to many more funny stories to add to my blog! I love you!!

More Eadle!

I haven't posted any pictures from our weekly Saturday Auburn attire. Since this was a Bye weekend, I thought it would be safe to post one. We have been known to wear our matching Auburn smocked outfits to church even though there was a loss...we are not fareweather fans here. I am sure my tuition $$ paid for more than a few AU jerseys and maybe an Escalade for some football player's momma. So, in Sissy's words "MORE EADLE!" (War Eagle for those of you who can't speak 2 year old)

And, this was the Cutie Pies on Sunday. After I dressed the Sis, she announced "I look puudy. Take my picture with Bubba in den!" Then I realized that they are starting to look alike.

Oh, I thought that was mine.

My routine of getting dinner on the table went as usual...
Get Bubba in his highchair while Sissy climbs into hers. Give him some toys to play with until I can get everything on the table and situated for everyone to begin eating. (That part can take a few minutes) Bring Sissy's plate to table, then bring mine. Sissy reminds me that I forgot her strawberries. Go back to get strawberries and bring to the table to cut them up. Cut up strawberries on her plate.
Then, I look over to see this...

I guess he's ready for table food.

Sissyisms and other stuff

I thought I would share a few of Sissy's funnies. I think her learning to talk is one of my favorite times because she says something hilarious every day.
We are going through a little scared stage right now. She thinks there are puppy dogs in her room (I am sure it would be monsters if she knew what that was). I am having a hard time convincing her that we do not allow any animals in our house and there will never be puppies in her room. I put more night lights in, gave her a toy that lights up, put the 'teddy bear that watches out for puppies' in her bed, open her closet door for another light, etc...I don't know what else to do. Now she is wanting me to lay down with her, but I can't unless I want to leave the baby unattended for 30+ minutes until she goes to sleep. (He is usually hungry or sleepy himself at her nap time.) And this only happens at nap, so I am wondering if this is just a way to keep from having to take a nap. :(
So, in honor of Sissy finally falling asleep after crying for about 45 minutes in her bed...here are some things to lighten the mood we are sure to have this afternoon.

1. When she sees cows or horses in pastures, she says they are eating a turkey sandwich (her favorite meal)
2. DVDs are Lu-lus and Video cameras are Lulie makers
3. Her cousin Jay says Chica Boom Boom (or something like that...from Alvin and the Chipmunks movie) so Sissy says "Chicken Brownin' Brownin' that what Jay says"
4. Halloween is Halloweena because it sounds like ballerina
5. She says something 'smells like' instead of looks like. Example: That smells like daddy's truck over there (when we pass a blue truck)
6. Anything that stinks, stanks.
7. Football is flitball
8. All meals are lunch
9. When she has used all of the stickers on a page she says 'I ate all my stickers!' 10. She calls most animals by their name, like cows, horses, but frogs are ribbits and rabbits are hops
11. Sometimes when she poots, she says "Oop, there's a ribbit in there!"
12. The other day she elbowed me in the boob pretty hard and I said Ouch, you elbowed me in the boob. She said "Mom, you got Elmo in your boob?"
Just a few...I am trying to keep this all written down in her journal. There are many many more, but I will spare you.

We went to see Papaw last week. It had been a while since I took them by there because the kids had been sick and I didn't want to take any germs to him. Sissy insisted that we take him some animals (animal crackers). Oh...she calls his oxygen "Papaw's breathe." And a few weeks ago, out of the blue, she said "Papaw's ears are broken, mommy. They ring." I think she remembered hearing his hearing aids make noise and was worried about them.
Sissy was sharing with Papaw, but Bubba decided that he would take the cookie from Papaw and eat it himself!

New Hope (where WB grew up) had their Founder's Day this weekend. WB always tries to take some of his tractors because they have a small 'tractor show.' He collects antique John Deere's and has about 6 or 8 or something. It's hard for me to keep up. Anyway, Sissy's tractor (a John Deere 4 Bolt B for anyone who wants to know) won 3rd place and got a 'tro-pee.' Sissy can pick her tractor out from all of the others already. She calls them 'Whackers' and LOVES to ride them...that's my girl! So, this was their little father/daughter gig...and me and the bubs came to get pics. Bubba will be right in the middle of it soon. Then WB can take his tractors and both kids. Won't that be interesting for him?! Just kidding...I will go for moral support and a ridiculously overpriced fresh squeezed lemonade.
Sissy and Daddy with her tropee...she said she wants it displayed in the den (not my first choice) and it has been known to eat lunch with us occasionally.
Sissy is also loving banjo music! It is so crazy! She can pick it out in songs and loves to hear it. At the founder's day, we were not even close to the band and she said "They playing that banjo!" Maybe she will have her daddy and uncle Bub's ability to pick up any instrument and play by ear. Let's hope she doesn't have mommy's 'talent'...I think I have mentioned my banjo playing days before. That's all they deserve...a mention. WB grew up playing piano at the church he went to when he was little. They would sit him on phone books so he could play the piano for the service. He won't play now though. Anyway, I decided to make her a banjo (mine is at mom and daddy's). I know y'all want one for your kids. They are available at my Etsy shop...just kidding. I have been wanting to say that!
And lastly...A few months back I think I said something like "Bubba will be driving a car soon!" Well, here he is. So far, he only knows how to go in reverse. He is getting to be such a Big Boy!

The 8 month old...and his sister too

I can't believe my Little Stinker Man is 8 months old already! Well, 8 and some change, but we have been busy with the Fall Funk around here and I just haven't posted lately. Plus, WB is working 4-10's now and has been in sick for a couple days over the past week. This NEVER happens, so I knew he felt bad and needed extra attention on my part. Hopefully we are over it now and are glad to welcome fall to our door! And on top of all of that, I have been without my video monitor for a week. I know, just use a sound monitor and get over it. But, if you have a video, you know that sound is NOT the same. I have seen my babies every sleeping hour of their lives and it makes me feel safe knowing that I can look in on them without having to take the chance on waking them up. And sometimes they wake up from naps and don't make a sound (lucky, I know), so I need to be able to see them. The replacement came via Mr. FedEx today...I can see!!!

Back to the point...
My baby is 8 months which means he is starting the 4th quarter of his 1st year of life. This makes me happy and sad all at the same time. I will spare you the tears and just show you some pictures of the most beautiful little sweet potato ever. No, you can't eat him for dessert! He is mine all mine and I am so lucky! I would go give him a great big kiss right now if he weren't sleeping so good. (I know this because I can see him on the monitor)
This is my big man in his jumpy...he wants to jump and/or stand all of the time now. He almost pulls the door frame off he jumps so high. Those dimples! Look, I know all y'all with little girls want me to keep him away.
He is trying to feed himself now and does really good with big things like crackers and 'Nelda Way-pas.' I have to keep his bowl far away because he will try to grab it and has pulled on the tablecloth many times trying to get the bowl closer to him.
I keep giving him puffs and he gets them all in his hands, but doesn't always get them in his mouth. It makes him so mad. This is how I found him today...with one stuck on his nose! ha
His favorite thing by far is his thumb. Favorite #2 is Louie the Lambie. But, I think he would take mommy over all of the above! He knows who supplies the goods around here. I think he is afraid I might forget to feed him, so he tries to store up as much as possible in his thighs and chins.
A picture of my boys! I am the luckiest girl in the world! I can't thank God enough for my sweet family!

So, what's Sissy been doing? Talking non stop every second she is awake. Seriously. She cracks me up everyday! She knows her colors, most shapes, can count to ten (she says tent), most of the alphabet, sings when she isn't talking, asks for her brother when she gets up (now she too can see him on the monitor...it was even bothering her that we didn't have it). When he cries, she will sing Jesus Loves Me to him and he stops. She is so sweet, yet can drive me crazy all at the same time.
Every morning when we go in to get her, she wants Bubba to watch the aquarium in bed with her. Yesterday, I sat him down and went to get laundry started. I came back to this... I guess she knew he can't swim yet.
This is her 'Silly Face' which she tries to do in all pictures. She is in my shoes and her new favorite shirt...the Auburn shirt from Uncle Bub. She wants to wear it every day. She also thinks all football on TV is Auburn and anything orange automatically goes with blue. (see the outfit below) By the way, orange is her favorite color. Smart girl.
Here she is making cookies, one of her new favorite things to do.
I think she really just likes this...eating the sprinkles out of the container. Since it has been so nice outside over the past week, we have been outside a lot. She loves riding her 'tractor jeep,' bicycle, and going for rides in the wagon with Bubba (who she now calls Bubba Stanka Pot). Notice T.O. likes to ride along. She always makes sure to put on his 'belt-seat'
I love my life!
